Fauxtary.1 Progress...

Have been making decent progress on the Fauxtary.1 MIDI controller.

I decided to have v1 be a supplement to my Traktor S8 DJ controller, not a replacement. This will allow me to flesh out all the basics first via a simpler prototype.

I have a case, cables, aluminum knobs, and some beefy ALPS Potentiometers on order. Once they get here I'll have some more content to post.

In the meantime I did get the control panel graphics mostly worked out. I investigated Ponoko for laser cutting/etching a control panel face. While the prices are way less than I thought they might be I am still going to go low tech. The case I bought is about 9"w x 6"d x 3"h with a sloped front. The control panel is aluminum sheet about 155mm x 60mm so just enough to fit 4 control knobs. I'll cut the graphics on my vinyl cutter and apply by hand. Since this will be for home use I won't be cranking on it like in a club gig.
More details to come as I flesh out the project page here.
